A pop-up clinic in Gaza, organized by Sulala Animal Rescue and Breaking the Chains International, has provided essential care to 25 donkeys and horses, as well as a goat, on Friday.
This initiative marks the third pop-up clinic held in the region, with plans for more in the future to aid even more animals in need in Gaza.
The situation for animals in Gaza is critical. They face threats from injuries, disease and starvation. The destruction of Gaza’s infrastructure has led to a severe shortage of food, medical supplies, and shelter for animals.
Sulala Animal Rescue, founded by Saeed Al Err, has been a beacon of hope for animals in Gaza. Saeed, driven by his love for animals, established the organization in the early 2000s with a few friends.
Despite the hardships over the nine months, Saeed and his team have continued to care for and feed stray animals, demonstrating remarkable resilience and dedication.

In Gaza, donkeys play a crucial role in the daily lives of many residents, particularly amidst the ongoing conflict. These animals are often used for transporting people and carrying vital supplies. Sometimes, they even act as makeshift ambulances in areas where vehicles cannot operate due to fuel shortages and infrastructure damage.
The conditions for donkeys in Gaza are bad. Many suffer from malnutrition, dehydration, and severe injuries caused by shrapnel, beatings, and overwork.
