Anteater rescued from wildfires in Bolivia (VIDEO)

Bolivian firefighters rescued an anteater from wildfires. “We ran into this animal. He’s badly wounded and hurt, so we brought him into town so these good people can tend to him,” firefighter Victor Hugo Sanchez said.

The anteater was found injured in a bushfire at the Sucuara lake in Santa Cruz department and was taken to a veterinarian for medical attention.

Firefighters struggled to put out a blaze that’s been sweeping through different protected areas for days. Local media reported that wildfires left around 37 acres (14 hectares) of terrain burnt across three different protected areas in that region.
