Tiger King’s Doc Antle accused of wildlife trafficking

Doc Antle, who starred in the Netflix series Tiger King, and four other people have been charged with wildlife trafficking and money laundering in South Carolina, the United States Justice Department said on Thursday.

Antle and the four others have been accused of illegally trafficking lemurs, cheetahs, chimpanzees and other wildlife animals. They face up to five years in prison for wildlife trafficking. Antle and another man are also being charged with money laundering, for which they can get up to 20 years in prison.

Doc starred in Tiger King, the Netflix true crime series about the world of private zoos and their owners. The show became a worldwide phenomenon when it was aired in March 2020.
