A Brazilian prosecutor said on Friday that the death of a young man at a slaughterhouse operated by Brazilian food processing company BRF in the state of Parana is under investigation.
On May 27, the 19-year-old man, who had been working at the company for only two months, fell into a machine and died, local media reported. BRF confirmed the death at its Toledo meat facility.
“It is a tragedy. We are dealing with another death at a meat packing plant,” prosecutor Lincoln Cordeiro told news agency Reuters. BRF said it is executing its own investigation into the cause of death and is cooperating with authorities.
