A lioness named Dana in a Belgian zoo tested positive for COVID-19, the zoo said on Tuesday. The members of her pride have all gone into isolation.
Dana is one of the four lions at the privately owned zoo Pairi Daiza. The zoo said she was suffering from a cough, fever, and loss of appetite. It’s not known how she got the coronavirus.
Dana and the other three lions are now being kept in individual enclosures away from the public, the zoo said.
At the beginning of December, the hippos Imani and Hermien got infected with coronavirus at Antwerp Zoo in Belgium.
