Two Spanish police officers jumped into a frozen pond to save a dog who couldn’t get out of the water, police said on Tuesday.
Police received a call that a dog was struggling to get out of the freezing water in Canfranc, in Aragon, eastern Spain.
By the time they reached the area, the dog had already been in the water for a while. The two officers quickly undressed and jumped into the water.
They broke the blocks of ice to reach the dog, a golden retriever, and pulled him towards the shore, video footage released by the police showed.
The dog has been returned to his owner, according to the Spanish daily newspaper La Vanguardia.
